Hi Sally,
congratulations on getting the Silver Bear award. I was thrilled! Love the film, great to see the class/school on the screen. A huge thank you for Year 2’s present. It was a great surprise & very thoughtful of you. We have been watching you on Jackanory and it has reminded us how much we miss having you around!
Good luck with you future work.
Love & best wishes

Hi Sally,
Just watched Happy Go Lucky, a very good portrayal by yourself, of a person who always looked on the brighter side of life, and when things turned dark, tried to see the good which would come out of it.
I just wondered if you based the character on anyone you know? I think we all know someone who is forever happy, but what happens behind closed doors when there isn’t an audience?
Well done, keep up the good work and although the offer by James by the time you are 35 may be good, I am sure you will not be short of offers, believe me.
Yours sincerely.
Mark.
Hi Sally,
I’m from Russia, Moscow!
I have been waiting for Happy-go-lucky since summer, just watched it yesterday!
You are amazing, movie is wonderful, everything just great!
I think we should have more films like this one, everybody must remember that even though there are lots of problems in each persons life we all should KEEP SMILING:)
Thank you!
Quite honestly I wouldn’t have gone to see Happy-Go-Lucky if my girlfriend hadn’t pulled me to the cinema. But after seeing the movie I have to say you did a beautiful job of portraying the complex character of Poppy.
Poppy is jazz-improvisational, a bit reckless, loving, and willing to travel just beyond the edges of convention. Most importantly, she makes you smile inside. In these times of great anxiety we need more Poppy’s in our lives.
Now I will be looking forward to seeing more of your great work in future films. You’re an immense talent.
Best of luck.

The Yanks across the Pond like myself will be looking forward to more great work from you-you’re an immense talent !

What a time to lose interest in maintaining the site.
Not even a mention of Happy-Go-Lucky, or anything about Sally winning the Golden Globe. Thousands, like me, will be searching for Sally Hawkins to find out more about her, and finding this dead site at the top of Google. Please, either post a note apologising that you can’t update any more, or – even better – turn the URL over to her. It’s her *name*, for goodness sake – once you’ve stopped actively running a fan site at the most important time in her career, then holding onto it is morally no more justified than cybersquatting. Please, do something about it before the Oscars.
Hi Sally
I wanted to say that your speech at the Globes was the best I’ve ever seen… it had everything!!… I don’t think I’ve seen one I wanted to watch again (far from it really) and I did look at yours once or twice. There should be an award for award acceptance speeches!… you would clean up. Congrats on your win…
Josephine

I wish you all the best in your private life and your career! Keep being so positive and keep smiling!
Lots of love,

I really really think Sally Hawkins resembles Mia Kirshner who played Jenny in The L Word. They’re both great actresses and bloody captivating!
Needless to say, I loved Sally and Elaine Cassidy’s rapport in Fingersmith. I hope the two would consider working together in a movie again.
ERES LINDISIMA MI QUERIDA SALLY, EN HAPPY GO LUCKY ERES GENIAL MI VIDAAAAA¡¡¡¡, ERES UN ENCANTO , GRANDIOSA ACTRIZ… ME ENCANTAS….
Bonjour,

Hello Sally,
My wife and I just watcjed your film, Happy-Go-Lucky last night. I can’t find the right words to express how much I enjoyed the movie and your performance in the character of Poppy was both brilliant and inspirational. Just imagine what a wonderful world we would share if everyone had a little Poppy in them. The producers could not have picked a better actress to portray her inner and outer qualities…You were magificant!!
Can’t wait to see your next venture.
Thank you.
Ron (Canada)
Hello Sally,
Very powerfull performance in Happy Go Lucky,
Wish you continued success.
Cheers,
Ms. Hawkins,
As a man with two daughters older than you and another just slightly younger, I would like to compliment you on your artistic craft. My wife and I just watched your role in ‘Persuasion’, and I cannot express the emotion you evoked. She (my wife) told me that if I didn’t get it together, she was going to have to buy me some pantyhose.
Congratulations and thank you for an excellent performance.
Sincerely,
A Grateful Yank
