A Fanlisting is defined by Wikipedia to be "a website created by a fan of a particular subject, with the aim of gathering together a list (either in database format or hardcoded HTML) of other fans of that particular subject."
In 2000, Janine Mischor created The Fanlistings Network, and that has now been recognised as the 'official' directory of all the fanlistings online.
