Synopsis:

Lizzie Hopley’s play based on a true story during the 16th-century in Rome. Beatrice Cenci is in prison, facing a death sentence for the murder of her crime-boss father. As a family friend tries to get her released, Beatrice (Sally Hawkins) spills her guts to the artist commissioned to paint her final portrait. Aired on BBC Radio 4 at 2:15p in 2004.
